Allergy Sufferers, Veterinarians Manage Dander with Beam Central Vac

According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI), as many as 10 million of the 100 million Americans who own pets are allergic to their dogs and cats. Yet 80 percent of pet owners keep their pets inside the home, triggering sneezing, itching, watery eyes, runny nose and a variety of other allergic reactions.

The same deep cleaning and allergen-reducing capability that makes Beam Central Vacuum Systems appealing to veterinarians also makes them ideal for pet owners' homes.

In fact, numerous allergy physicians and environmental organizations such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) say the use of central vacuum systems may help some patients live comfortably with pets in the home. Because they exhaust no air into the room that can stir up pet dander and other allergens and completely remove contacted allergens from the living area, central vacuum systems significantly reduce exposure to animal dander, dust mites and other allergens.

Filtration

Beam Self-Cleaning HEPA Filtration sustains a high level of performance.

With a Beam Central Vacuum System there are no filters and no screens to clean or replace

Beam power units utilize an exclusive permanent HEPA self-cleaning filtration material from the makers of GORE-TEX fabric.

By using cyclonic forces to separate larger dirt particles and allergens from vacuumed air the permanent filter removes tiny particles at a stunning 98% efficiency at .3 microns compared to typical levels of 30 to 80%.

The On-Guard dirt receptacle is infused with the anti-microbial agent AlphaSan preventing bacteria growth in the bucket. And most importantly, power is not lost as the bucket fills up, allowing the unit to sustain a high level of performance time after time.

Other systems use many of the same features. Some are cyclonic. Some have filters. Some exhaust outside the house. But none of them combine all of these features into the same unit.

Cleaning Tips

Using Your BEAM Central Vacuum System to Improve Indoor Air Quality
Dusting

Traditional dusting: Ineffective and harmful. Dusting your home the old fashioned way with rags and scented sprays is ineffective and can be harmful. That's because dust is recirculated, and chemicals are introduced into the living environment which can be extremely hazardous to allergy and asthma sufferers. Beam Central Vacuum System dusting attachments allow you to put more power into dusting. A Beam system removes 100% of contacted dust, mites, dander, pollen and other allergens and carries them away from the living environment to a canister usually located in the garage or basement. Regular deep cleaning with a Beam system means you'll breathe easier and dust less often. Carpet and upholstery: Can you live with it? Some allergy and asthma sufferers can tolerate carpet, draperies, blinds and upholstery, others cannot. Whether you should remove these items from your home should be determined by your physician. Only 20% of the patients who are advised to remove their carpet actually do. With a Beam these changes may not be necessary. Consult your physician.

Vac Pan

KickSweep The KickSweep is a must have in any home. No more stooping to use a dustpan in kitchen, mudroom or bath. Just sweep debris into the inlet mouth, touch the toe switch and dirt is whisked away. Contemporary styling leaves no gaps when not in use. Professional installation required.

Pet Tools

Pets can be hazardous, too. Dirt, dander and animal hair can be key sources of irritation for allergy and asthma sufferers. Many physicians recommend removing pets from the home, however only a small percentage of those advised to get rid of their pets actually do. If your physician has determined that you can tolerate pets, a Beam Central Vacuum System can help improve your indoor environment. Up to five times more powerful than upright vacuums, a Beam system completely removes contacted dirt, dust and allergens from living areas. Beam Pet Grooming tools remove pet hair and dander as you groom/comb small or large pets. Before you install a Beam system, get your physician's recommendation.

Hard to Reach

Refrigerators: Not cool for allergy sufferers. A refrigerator acts like a powerful magnet attracting dust and allergens, which become trapped beneath and behind the unit. When the motor cycles on and off, the dirt becomes airborne creating a key source of irritation for allergy and asthma sufferers. Until now removing dust has been difficult because the refrigerator had to be moved. Now with the Beam Wonderwand Floor Hugger it is easy to clean beneath and behind refrigerators and other hard-to-move appliances and furniture. This narrow attachment slips beneath and behind the unit to remove trapped dust, dirt and allergens quickly and easily. The same deep cleaning and allergen-reducing capability that makes Beam Central Vacuum Systems appealing to veterinarians also makes them ideal for pet owners' homes.
